Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dairy Industry Association said: “Iran's history of entering the dairy export market is not very long; therefore, export products are bought at a lower price.”

Vahid Mofid, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dairy Industry Association stated: “This year, the production situation increased slightly, but this increase in production did not result in an increase in consumption, and mostly went into the export channel."

Dairy Export with lower rate
One of the activists of the dairy market said earlier: "as the country is under sanction, the products exported from Iran are at a lower price than other countries." He continued: “The history of Iran's entry into the export market in the field of dairy products is not very long. We were importing a series of dairy products until 10 years ago. Totally, our products are exported with lower percentage in comparison with global market rate.”

Regarding the country's export market, he said: “Most of our export target countries are Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Russia and the nearby countries. Also, some companies export to distant countries such as Japan, while exports to China are also being followed up and under investigation; however, the main export is to neighboring countries in the north, west and east.”

80 producers produce 80% of dairy products
Mofid stated: “The number of large production units in the dairy industry is growing; That is, big brands develop their business.”

Per capita consumption of dairy products in the country
Regarding the per capita consumption of dairy products in the country, the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dairy Industry Association said: “According to nutrition experts, dairy products can be used in every meal; however, the country's dairy consumption has not yet been thoroughly investigated. As a food industry expert, I am in favor of export to grow and develop the industry.”

Domestic products versus global standards
Regarding domestic products standards Mofid declared: “Two factors affect domestic products quality: first, the crude milk quality and second factory technology standards required for products’ quality control.”  He continued: “Currently, there are modern and advanced livestock farms in the country that produce qualified milk at the level of the world standard milk industry. As the producing units grow, they equipped with the modern technology. Therefore, I can say that Regarding the majority of dairy products in large units, the quality standard level is at the same level of the leading countries in the Europe.”
